Scope & Content |
This photocopy describes medicinal springs in Chester County; namely the Yellow Springs Spa in Chester Springs and the Silver Spring in Kimberton. The American Indians first used the medicinal waters, and soon early settlers transformed trails to major roadways with the first hotels available in 1722. The report gives a detail on the geology of iron ore and cobalt found in this area and the " birth elements" whose qualities they believe involve good health. They also discuss watercress and its silver value. |
