This document contains typed transcriptions of the 1832 pension application of Abraham Reed as well as a subsequent amendment to the application made in 1833. The application describes Reed's two terms of service (1778-1779 and 1780-1781) during the Revolutionary War. During his first term of service Reed was confined at the Yellow Springs Revolutionary War Hospital while suffering from illnesses.

Rev. James Sproat, a clergy of the Presbyterian Church, was elected by Congress a chaplain for the hospitals of the Middle Deparatment during the Revolutionary War. This folder contains excerpts from his journals detailing his work at the Yellow Springs hospital and his visits with Dr. Samuel Kennedy and Dr. Bodo Otto and other Revolutionary War physicians. His travels from town and village are noted.

This is a collection of journals of the Continental Congress along with photocopies of letters and memos re the Revolutionary War and its connection to Yellow Springs. Included are memos by General George Washington from the Yellow Springs headquarters, orders to fill the medicine chests at the Yellow Springs Hospital, requests for damages from the Kennedy family as well as troop movement updates.
