This is a contemporary photograph of the White Horse Tavern. The tavern, built in 1715, is located near the site of the Battle of the Clouds, a Revolutionary War battle so named due to a large rainstorm hitting the region just as the conflict began, thus forcing both British and American forces to retreat.

This folder contains an advertising piece from THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC for the appearance of the Siamese Twins Chang and Eng at the Yellow Springs Spa on December 31, 1836.
